Boshan tofu box
Boshan Tofu Box is a traditional specialty from Boshan District, Zibo, Shandong, and a classic of Lu (Shandong) cuisine. Tofu is cut into blocks, hollowed out, and filled with minced meat, then topped with a 'box lid,' steamed, and draped with sauce. Resembling an exquisite little box on the outside with savory filling hidden inside, it is a representative masterpiece of Boshan cuisine.

- Firm tofu 500 g
- Pork filling 200 g
- Shiitake mushrooms 30 g
- Wood ear fungus 20 g
- Shelled shrimp 50 g
- Eggs 1 pcs
- Scallions and ginger 20 g
- Light soy sauce 15 ml
- Cooking wine 10 ml
- salt to taste
- Water starch to taste
- Stock 200 ml
制作步骤
- Cut the tofu into 4cm square pieces, about 12 pieces in total
- Put oil in the pot and fry the tofu cubes until golden brown and take them out
- Cut a knife (without cutting) into the top of each piece of tofu to make a lid
- Carefully take out the middle part of the tofu to form an empty box
- Add diced mushrooms, diced fungus, diced shrimp, chopped green onion and ginger to the meat filling and mix well
- Fill the tofu box with fillings and close the lid
- Steam for 15 minutes
- Bring the stock to a boil, thicken it with starch and pour it on the tofu box.
