文化小知识
Shanghai small wontons are an institution — the city has countless wonton shops that have been operating for decades. Unlike northern Chinese wontons which are larger and more filling, Shanghai's version is deliberately delicate and refined. The clear broth is meant to showcase the wonton's transparency. A bowl of small wonton soup is the quintessential Shanghai comfort food, enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or as a late-night snack.
