Ingredients
- Tilapia 1 (about 500g, cleaned)
- Tofu 200g (cubed)
- Ginger 15g (sliced)
- Scallions 3
- Garlic 3 cloves (sliced)
- Light soy sauce 1 tbsp
- Shaoxing wine 1 tbsp
- White pepper 1/4 tsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Cooking oil 2 tbsp
- Water 800ml
Instructions
- 1. Clean tilapia. Cut into thick slices.
- 2. Heat oil. Pan-fry fish slices until lightly golden on both sides.
- 3. Add ginger, garlic and scallion whites.
- 4. Add Shaoxing wine and hot water.
- 5. Bring to boil. Reduce heat. Simmer 15 minutes.
- 6. Add tofu cubes.
- 7. Simmer 10 more minutes until soup is milky white.
- 8. Season with soy sauce, salt and white pepper.
- 9. Garnish with scallion greens. Serve hot.
