Liuzhou Sweet Potato Dumplings
Liǔzhōu Hóngshǔ Jiǎo are sweet potato dumplings from Liuzhou, Guangxi. Made from mashed sweet potato wrapped around a sweet or savory filling, these dumplings are deep-fried until golden. They are a popular street snack in Liuzhou and showcase the region's love for sweet potato-based foods.
食材清单
- Dough: 300 g sweet potato (steamed and mashed)
- Dough: 50 g tapioca starch
- Filling (sweet): 100 g red bean paste
- Or filling (savory): 100 g minced pork, mushrooms, soy sauce
- Oil for deep frying
制作步骤
- 1. Wash and cut Liuzhou sweet potato dumplings into pieces, blanch them in water to remove the blood foam and set aside.
- 2. Heat oil in a pot and sauté onions, ginger and garlic.
- 3. Add Liuzhou sweet potato dumplings and fry until the surface is slightly brown.
- 4. Add sweet potatoes, ginger slices, green onions and appropriate amount of hot water
- 5. Bring to a boil, then turn to low heat and simmer for 40-60 minutes
- 6. Add salt and pepper, reduce the juice over high heat, and serve.
