Shangrao Roast Chicken is a signature dish from the Shangrao region of Jiangxi. Made from local free-range chicken that is marinated and slowly roasted over charcoal. The skin is golden and crispy while the meat is tender and juicy, with an irresistible aroma. It is a must-have dish for banquets and festivals in the Shangrao area.

制作步骤

  1. Clean the chicken and rub salt and five-spice powder inside and out
  2. Mix light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, cooking wine and honey into marinade
  3. Spread the marinade evenly on the inside and outside of the chicken
  4. Add ginger and garlic slices and marinate for more than 4 hours (overnight is better)
  5. Preheat oven to 180 degrees
  6. Place the chicken in a baking pan and brush with honey water
  7. Bake for 60 minutes, turning over halfway through and brushing with honey water
  8. Bake until the skin is golden brown and crispy
