About Mint Beef
Thinly sliced beef stir-fried with fresh mint leaves, a refreshing and aromatic dish from Yunnan. The combination of tender beef and cool mint creates a unique flavor profile that is characteristic of Dai ethnic cuisine.
Ingredients
- Beef tenderloin 250g (sliced thin)
- Fresh mint leaves 50g
- Ginger 10g (julienned)
- Garlic 3 cloves (minced)
- Dried chili 5
- Light soy sauce 1 tbsp
- Shaoxing wine 1 tsp
- Cornstarch 1 tsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Cooking oil 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Slice beef thin. Marinate with soy sauce, Shaoxing wine and cornstarch 15 minutes.
- 2. Wash mint leaves and pat dry.
- 3. Heat oil until very hot.
- 4. Quick-fry beef 30 seconds. Remove.
- 5. Add garlic, ginger and dried chilies.
- 6. Return beef. Add salt.
- 7. Add mint leaves last. Toss quickly.
- 8. Serve immediately while mint is still bright and fragrant.
